Short but sweet coverage by my second photographer, Oat for a very smiley Sinead and Stephan who tied the knot at Islington Town Hall.

Last weekend I headed out to Cockpit Arts‘ Open Weekend to celebrate their 25th Birthday. Why did I not know this place existed until recently! It’s a treasure trove of the coolest designers. They describe themselves as “an award winning social enterprise and the UK’s only creative-business incubator for designer-makers. We are a renowned hotbed of creative talent, helping 165 resident designer-makers to grow their businesses and hundreds more through our Making It workshops and seminars.” I came across one particular artist, Jo Heckett, who makes the sweetest ceramic goodies – perfect for adding a personal touch to your wedding. Check out her website for lots of ideas.
There’s another open day in Deptford on the 17-19 June, stick it in your diary.

The majority of couples who get in touch about wedding photography are from recommendation, just like Sophie and Danny who were guests at Andrea and John’s (most excellent!) wedding in Portugal last year. They also decided to head out of the UK to Ibiza, where Danny’s been a frequent visitor for the last twenty years (and I reckon still partying as hard!). It was when he started going there with Sophie that he began exploring the island more in depth and with getting married there, it’ll always be associated with their fondest memories.
The night before the wedding we piled into Cicale restaurant for dinner. There’s only one word to describe it: phenomenal! It will go down as one of the best meals I have had, and probably will ever experience for a long time.

During our time in Ibiza, it was unseasonally cool and wet – it was hard hearing that there was a heatwave on back home! Boo! Heavy rain was forecast but luckily, with only half an hour to go before the outdoor ceremony, the sun came out and stayed, yay!

Sophie and Danny hired an incredible villa high in the hills with superb views.

Sophie’s walk on soft, wet grass to meet Danny was a fair old distance, but with a pair of sky-high Louboutins, a girl’s pretty invincible.

I usually give some gentle direction when doing the couple portraits but on this occasion I barely had to say anything – they just did what came naturally.

A little clichéd but sometimes I can’t resist.

Loving the lush colours, Julie. You’ve really nailed the interactions between folk.
